WHAT WE DO
Divorce Mediation
Divorce is Never Easy
At RSCCM, our trained mediators provide a neutral, confidential space where both parties can communicate openly and reach their own agreement. We’re here whether or not you’ve filed for divorce yet—so you can move forward on your terms.
Mediation Can Help
In a mediation session, our mediators do not give legal advice. Instead, they help parties explore constructive resolutions to their stickiest problems. Divorce mediation is no different. Some benefits of divorce mediation are:
- Control – Whether you begin divorce mediation before or after filing, with or without attorneys present, you are in control of the process. Whether you want to come to an agreement before filing or you are looking to escape the pains of traditional litigation, we find parties can often come to an amicable agreement through the mediation process.
- Coordination with Courts – If divorce mediation is court ordered, the only information from the session shared with the court is the outcome: full agreement, partial agreement, or no agreement. The details of the agreement stay between the parties and their representatives.
- Reasonable Pricing – The fee for mediation is affordable and priced hourly. Contact us to learn more about our fee structure. We find mediation is rarely out of reach because of cost.
- Confidentiality – Whether parties enter mediation on their own or are referred by a court, confidentiality is at the core of the process. Our individual intake process allows parties to introduce their issues privately, allowing mediators to understand the full scope of the issue without endangering either party.
⚠️ Important: There are limits to confidentiality. Mediators must communicate threats of physical harm to persons and/or property; attempts to plan, commit or conceal a crime; issues of suspected child abuse/neglect; and issues of suspected elder abuse/neglect to the appropriate authorities.
Getting Started
1. Initial Communication
Either party can initiate mediation by getting in touch with RSCCM. Use the Request Mediation button below. You will be asked to provide contact information for all parties in the case and any attorneys involved, along with copies of any court documents, if relevant.
2. Contacting the Other Party
RSCCM contacts the other party on your behalf to determine their willingness to participate in mediation.
3. Individual Intake
RSCCM schedules an intake meeting to complete necessary paperwork with each party. Intake appointments typically take 1-1.5 hours and a deposit for mediation services is required at the start of the appointment.
4. Scheduling a Session
RSCCM contacts both parties to determine a mutually agreeable date for a mediation session. Once a date is decided, RSCCM sends confirmation letters to all parties over email.
